Our Investment Approach
We take a disciplined, asset-based approach focused on opportunities where our operating expertise and asset management efforts can solve complex situations and improve fundamental value. Typically, this means investing in situations that are specific to an asset, company, sub-market, or situation. We avoid investments where the value creation thesis is reliant on perceived future macroeconomic or market trends.
Chimera’s Real Estate platform has the experience and flexibility to invest in distressed debt, high-yielding senior loans, direct equity, and hybrid investments, among others. Our experience spans highly structured and complicated capital structures, sponsorship/management turnaround issues, divestitures, and bankruptcies.
